Thomasville says its Ernest Hemingway collection was the most successful new product launch in the industry to date. This line is all about exploration and adventure with references to his travels to Paris, the tropics, the Far East and Africa. Hooker’s Palmer Collection exudes classic, timeless lines. This furniture is built to last. The Palmer collection has the feel of a Gentlemen’s Country Club. Another popular and classic look comes from Hooker’s Casa Blanca case goods. Laced with a Moroccan theme, this line is sure to take you back in time. With the excellent films that were considered for Oscars this year, it will be interesting to see if any are recreated in a new line of furniture. One might be “Slum Dog Millionaire,” with all the rich colors of India and the exotic ambiance. And with the economy on the downswing you don’t have to spend a lot of money incorporating the exotic flavor of India into your design plan. Shop wisely and use color and authentic pieces of art work, clothing and jewelry to create your space. Several years ago my cousin’s wife, who is from India, bought me a beautiful sari. I was delighted to receive this colorful piece of clothing and I wore it often until one day I realized that it would spice up my living room if I draped it across my sofa table. Since then, it has been a conversation piece for numerous guests in my home. The metallic threads and colors add just the right amount of color to my sofa table and blend well with the other accessories in my living room. Look for bedspreads, tablecloths and silk or wooden wall hangings that will bring in lots of color to your space. Find an authentic wooden box made from mango wood. And fill it with beaded jewelry. Take advantage of paint and choose warm bold colors to pull everything together. Now go out and create a unique comfort zone! Add a comment |
